Do you find yourself still constantly thinking about him? If you answered yes, chances are you are not ready to get into another relationship just yet. It’s not fair to you or your date if you are dwelling on your ex and wondering what he’s up to. Take some time to sort things through. There is no need to rush. You don’t want to end up in a rebound relationship. This could very well end up being as bad as or worse than the one you just got out of.

Have you been through the complete grieving process? You need to realize that grief has many different stages and each stage needs to be addressed before a person can move on. Were you initially in denial or could you still be in denial?

Finally, have you accepted that it’s over? When you have been through all of the above steps and have accepted that the past is the past and now it is time to get on with the present and the future, you are likely ready to begin dating again.
