AI is a blessing and a curse. Docs can be created in seconds leaving businesses hollering for more. Scams can be created in seconds too. With over 5 billion internet users worldwide, the internet is the busiest gathering in the history of the world, and it’s rife with the good, bad, and the ugly. McAfee Ultimate uses the power of AI to protect its users, and it’s hard to deny the need for it in today’s busy world.
I have three boys, and I build my own PCs. Each of them is eager to hop on and dive into games and learning. Their latest fascination is with 3D printing, and I made them promise to learn on their own in order to get ours to work properly. One little thing I forgot about was the need for software. Naturally, in their curiosity for more they learned about what was needed and started downloading away. I know better, but this time, apparently, I just forgot to tell them. So, I come home to a bunch of memory hogging bloatware.
I was pretty nervous I’d be riddled with viruses too. I pop on McAfee and run a deep scan. All is well. Real time scanning quarantined anything they could have possibly snagged on accident in their virtual endeavors, and my PC remains safe. Oh, and they have the 3D printer working wonders.
Setup
Setting McAfee up is simple. They don’t just offer this stuff and then leave me hanging. I argue that setup is straight to the point and if you’ve installed anything in your life, you should be able to install this. That being said – some people just need a bit more help. To be fair, I didn’t test out the one-on-one assistance option. However, it’s nice to know it is there. McAfee offers help with protection setup, and you guessed it – it’s included with McAfee+ Ultimate.
This isn’t something you have to schedule. It’s just there. If I get stuck, it’s good to know I can simply pick up the phone and call someone for help.
Coverage
It could have been worse, of course, but I’ve learned to trust McAfee to catch things I just don’t recognize. It’s a fantastic safety net considering it only takes 3 seconds for AI to clone a voice. Every 11 seconds a new phishing site is created. It takes a mere 2 minutes to create a deepfake, and about 50% of people say AI makes it harder to spot online scams. My guess is this AI thing is only going to get crazier. I like the idea of someone having my back. I argue McAfee does. They use AI to fight AI, and McAfee ultimate comes with protection. They even have my back for up to $2M in identity theft and stolen funds coverage which includes $25k in ransomware coverage.
Ultimate, monitors my ID online including counterfeit ID monitoring, crimes made in my name monitoring, payday loan monitoring, and they also offer Credit lock through one bureau. They even monitor my social media accounts and are the first company to ever support TikTok. There is a lot here, and I highly recommend diving into the details on McAfee’s website for details. McAfee+ Ultimate layers all of these features on top of their robust online account cleanup options and Antivirus protection which also includes a VPN. The reality is, if you can think of the protection you need, McAfee likely has you covered in their Ultimate Protection. It’s almost overwhelming, but it certainly gives peace of mind!
AI isn’t stopping but it doesn’t have to stop you
No matter what, we are past the point of no return when it comes to AI. For better or for worse. Unfortunately, cybercriminals are getting smarter.
