If you want to save loads of time on reading reviews, you have come to the right place. I’ve tried out Roborock’s Qrevo Edge for roughly two months. Once again, I’m sold. If you don’t want to read a whole article as to why, then you should know this. The Roborock Qrevo Edge has fantastic suction (better than iRobot’s Roomba), a self-cleaning dock that even uses hot water to wash the mop, automatic emptying for debris, and a whole lot more in the app. The debate is over, IRobot is dethroned, and Roborock currently reigns supreme.
Roborock offers awesome products, and one of my favorite things about them is their ease of set up. The directions are clear and easy to follow. This guarantees I’ll have the vac running in mere minutes from opening it. Boxes are clearly marked, and there is minimal concern with packaging or build.
Setup
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put one of these together. It just takes a basic understanding of how to attach two pieces together that no soul would ever need instructions for anyways. However, they are included for those who may be afraid of making simple mistakes.
I wait for a few hours to ensure my robot is fully charged before its first use (although I don’t believe this is crucial). While it charges, I download the Roborock app and work on device setup. Again – instructions have me up and running in no time. With this connection, I can even have the Qrevo Edge work with Alexa (or Google).
Mapping
Now for the mapping. Once I fire up the pearly white Vac and mop, I simply send the little guy on an errand to map out the house. This only takes a few minutes as Roborock uses a tech called LiDAR that guides the bot around with perfect precision. I believe Roomba’s are still trying to use cameras to guide making mapping a bit less accurate – particularly if the lights are off. Another win for Roborock.
When the Qrevo Edge is finished mapping, I set up a few no go zones and virtual walls for areas I just don’t need it in. That being said, know that the vacuum can lift it’s mops to ensure a great vacuum of carpet even whilst mopping as well. There is no need to remove the mop pads at any point. Now – it’s time to watch this “sucker” work.
Power
As soon as I set the Roborock Qrevo Edge loose, I immediately see (and hear) the difference. The suction power is no joke. It is easily the most power robot vac I’ve tested with 18,500 Pa suction. It effortlessly picks up everything from dust and pet hair to the rogue crumbs that somehow seem to appear no matter how often I clean.
One of my favorite features is how quiet it is. Okay yes, I can hear it doing its thing, but compared to other vacuums I’ve tested, this one is significantly less intrusive. I can actually hold a conversation or watch TV without having to crank up the volume to compete with a screaming vacuum. Though I do try to avoid watching if it’s running.
The mop function is another spectacle. Unlike older models that kind of just drag a damp cloth around, the Qrevo Edge actually scrubs. My floors have never looked better, and the best part? I don’t have to lift a finger. It returns to the dock when it needs to clean itself, using hot water to rinse and scrub the mop pads. No nasty mildew smells, no manual rinsing—just clean floors every time.
The Dock
Speaking of the dock, the automatic debris emptying is a blessing. I used to hate having to manually empty vacuum bins, especially with how quickly they fill up in a house with pets. Now, the dock takes care of that for me. It sucks all the dirt and debris into a bag that I only have to replace every few weeks. However, to save money I spend the time to empty it myself.
The Roborock app continues to impress me. It gives me great control over cleaning schedules, power levels, and even the ability to send the bot to a specific spot for a quick touch-up. My fam can be clumsy at times, and one member who will go unnamed (my wife) spilled some cereal in the kitchen. Instead of dragging out a broom or vacuum, I just pulled out my phone, tapped a few buttons, and let the Qrevo Edge handle it. Though admittedly, if you’re not tech savvy a broom is still pretty quick. It’s the nastier spills I love to use the Edge with. The day-to-day use is phenomenal.
Over the past two months, this little guy has helped with cleaning. Deep cleans will always still be necessary. They just happen far less frequently. Now, there aren’t as many last-minute scrambles before guests arrive. The Edge just runs on a schedule, keeping everything spotless with minimal effort on my part.
Roborock has, once again, absolutely nailed it. The Roborock Qrevo Edge is hands down one of the best robot vacuum-mop combos I’ve tested. If you’re on the fence, let me just say this: stop debating and get one. You won’t regret it. We’ll be checking out more of Roborock’s fantastic products soon – keep an eye out!
