Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Headset Review: Greatest of All Time?

Innovation leads to domination. That’s what Turtle Beach must be thinking. It’s apparent that Turtle Beach longs to up their game and please their fans with each new generation of peripherals. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Headset isn’t an exception to this rule, and it adds a few great features that many headsets fail to. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great top of the noggin’ sets out there, but Turtle Beach’s latest still solidifies them as a top contender for the greatest available. Here’s why.

Style Points

Turtle Beach always makes a pretty sweet looking set of cans. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 further defines the brand with a sleek and modern look and “lay flat steel reinforced design”. They still can’t be beat when it comes to how they decide to hide their microphone when not in use. I love the flip mute option and always will. The Stealth name surely earns its title here. There are more options than ever before with this gaming gear, and one of the first things I notice once it’s atop my head is the bevy of buttons.

Each ear cup has 3-4 button/wheel options, and I can get a little mixed up when I’m trying to adjust things on the fly. Realistically though, I tend to get myself situated prior to any gaming session. It’s fairly easy to remember that Bluetooth (5.2) options are on the right whereas 2.4GHz wireless options are on the left.

Perhaps the newest feature the Stealth 700’s offer is the ability to easily switch between consoles and PC. This is already a stop up from the Stealth Pro. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 set comes with not one but two audio transmitters. This means I can easily switch from PlayStation to Xbox without having to physically change the dongle to either system. I simply press a button on the headset to switch between dongles. This is a fantastic addition. This obviously can work from PC to Xbox or PlayStation as well. If I pair with Bluetooth at the same time, I can actually listen to both my game and be on a call (listen to music etc.) at the same time if I pair with my phone for example.

Comfort Is King

Perhaps the number one feature of any headset for me is comfort. It really doesn’t matter if I have the greatest sounding set of all time if the thing squeezes too tight or gives me a headache. So, in essence comfort is indeed king when it comes to gaming. I also realize that to get any quality of sound, typically I there needs to be a bit of weight. It’s a tough balance, but one that Turtle Beach does pretty well on.

Ultimately, when I think of comfort I think of two headsets. The first being Turtle Beach’s own Atlas Air headset (see our video review here). The second is SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. Both headsets are great in their own right. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 is comfortable to be sure, but it doesn’t quite meet the brilliance of the former option. I hate reviews for this reason. You still have to try these things on, and just because I say I prefer the comfort of other gear doesn’t mean the current gear being reviewed is worse. It just means I prefer something else. The 700’s are extremely comfortable and can be worn for long periods of time.

The nice thing about the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 is the external noise cancellation. If I’m in a game, there is no chance I’m going to hear what is going on around me allowing for complete immersion.

Crystal Clear – Unmistakenly Pure

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 headset truly excels in delivering crystal-clear sound that enhances the gaming experience. With its innovative design and advanced audio technology, every detail – from the subtle rustle of leaves in an open-world environment to the intense crackle of gunfire in a heated battle -comes through with remarkable clarity. The headset’s powerful drivers and high-quality audio processing create an immersive soundstage that draws players deep into their games. Whether you’re enjoying the ambient sounds of a vast landscape or engaging in fast-paced action, the Stealth 700 ensures that every note, every dialogue, and every sound effect is crisp and defined. This level of audio fidelity not only elevates gameplay but also solidifies Turtle Beach’s reputation as a leader in gaming peripherals.

Oh, yes, don’t worry – you can hear those footsteps scrabbling around you in Black Ops 6.

Summary

So – Greatest of all time? That’s tough to earn with SteelSeries’ award winning Arctis sets still haunting the market this fall. Greatest from Turtle Beach? It’s definitely top tier in the Stealth Series. I have a hard time giving this headset better marks than last year’s Stealth Pro. Please don’t misinterpret this as a knock on this headset. It’s crazy good – gorgeous design, fantastic all-day comfort, and dynamic sound. Plus, it’s still at least $50 cheaper on the Turtle Beach Website. That alone may make the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 headset worth picking up. Phenomenal product.
