Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded – Fast, Fierce, and Fully Customizable

When I first got my hands on the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded (Xbox version), I could tell right away this wasn’t just another third-party controller – like most Turtle Beach owned products – it’s a piece of hardware built for players who live and breathe competitive gaming. It feels fast. It screams responsiveness. The triggers have near-instant activation, the sticks feel tuned for precision aiming, and the modular design invites you to optimize it for whatever shooter or action game you’re into. For first-person shooters like Apex Legends, where milliseconds can decide whether you’re the hunter or the hunted, the Pro BFG Reloaded feels like a genuine competitive edge in your hands. Unless you suck – which I kinda do – but it’s not the controller’s fault!

First impressions

The Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded feels like a premium piece of gear. The textured grips, solid weight, and modular components give it that high-end feel you want from a “pro” controller. It includes three customizable modules built with Hall-Effect technology and eleven interchangeable components for thumbsticks, D-pads, and gates. You also get five-stop Hall-Effect Clutch Triggers with Hair-Trigger mode, and a low-latency wireless dongle that supports up to around 20 hours of battery life on Xbox or PC.

It’s clear from the start that this controller was built for serious players – those who care about control, speed, and adaptability.

How I used it – Xbox version, mixed-genre testing

I tested the controller across multiple games on my Xbox Series X to see how it held up under different types of gameplay. In Apex Legends, I wanted to push its responsiveness and ergonomics to the limit. The precision in firefights, quick slides, and aiming transitions stood out immediately. Switching to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I looked for comfort and accuracy in exploration and melee combat. Then, with Clair Obscur, a slower-paced, atmospheric adventure, I tested fine movement and analog stick sensitivity.

The modular design made a real difference across genres. For Apex Legends, I swapped to a taller “sniper-stick” cap for more controlled aiming, and I remapped the four back buttons for crouch, reload, and ping – freeing my thumbs for consistent movement and aim. The comfort was also noticeable during extended Indiana Jones sessions, and in Clair Obscur, the Hall-Effect sensors gave me steady precision without stick drift.

What I liked

The biggest strength of the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded is its customization and modularity. Unquestionably. Being able to swap modules and components makes it feel like a controller that adapts to you, not the other way around. The Hall-Effect technology ensures ultra-smooth input and eliminates drift, while the wireless and wired flexibility makes it easy to switch between setups. The included braided USB-C cable is sturdy and long enough for both console and PC use.

Comfort deserves a mention too. The grips and overall shape feel natural, even after hours of gaming. For fast-paced shooters, the controller’s weight balance feels perfect – solid but not tiring.

What I didn’t like / Areas for improvement

My only real complaint is with the trigger sensitivity. Out of the box, the triggers are very touchy in hair-trigger mode. In Apex Legends, that meant a few accidental shots before I realized how light the pull was. It’s a small issue but can be frustrating in clutch moments. Luckily, you can fix this using the clutch sliders on the back to increase the trigger travel distance. After adjusting the sliders, the triggers felt much more predictable and comfortable.

The other minor drawback is that the controller takes some setup time. Between swapping modules, adjusting triggers, and remapping buttons, it’s not exactly plug-and-play. And with its premium price, it’s clearly aimed at gamers who want full control and customization, not just simplicity.

Summing it up

If I had to sum it up, I’d say this: the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded is one of the most active, competitive controllers you can buy for Xbox – it’s fast, precise, and endlessly customizable, but it rewards the players who take the time to dial it in.

For competitive shooters like Apex Legends, this thing is a beast once you tune the clutch sliders and customize the back buttons. For adventure or puzzle games, it still shines with comfort and stability over long sessions. The only real learning curve is finding the trigger feel that matches your playstyle.

The Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded doesn’t just play games – it keeps up with them.
