A Gleaming Review of the Govee Neon Rope Light 2

RGB fans rejoice. Govee keeps on pumping out products that are both innovative, fun, and just cool. One of their latest delights is the Govee Neon Rope Light 2. If you can’t seem to get enough RGB lighting in your room, adding a rope light seems like the best thing ever. The Govee Neon Rope Light 2 creates an amazing ambience in any room. In this article I’ll cover what’s new, why it is so much fun, and what else we may be able to look forward to from Govee this year.

What’s new

The Govee Neon Rope Light 2 offers enhanced flexibility allowing me to make practically any design across my wall. This version is made of a softer material allowing for even more flexibility for your personal designs. Previous users may also notice that the clips have been upgraded for better hanging performance. While I put my rope light on my wall, I noticed how easy it was to create a design with the bendable clips to put my shape up before ever hanging the light. All in all, this makes putting the Rope Light up a quick hassle-free experience.

Additionally, Govee has included Shape Mapping within the Govee App to give a brand-new ambience. This means I can literally customize any portion of the Neon Rope Light 2 to any color I can think of. The camera literally uses shape recognition to apply a host of lighting effects through the different segments. I feel like I can be as creative as I want and Govee will help determine the coolest colors for my shape. If I don’t like them? I just customize them myself.

Finally, Govee also updated their lighting system with the Neon Rope Light 2 to be Matter Compatible. Why does this “matter”? It lets me change the lights at any given moment through the Govee Home App, Matter, Alexa, or through Google. Oh, and I’m not just limited to one of those. With Matter, I can connect the Govee Neon Rope Light 2 to multiple devices. I’m not just limited to the Echo device for example. Matter support is definitely cool, but some users should take note that the best features are still hosted in the Govee app. Changing the lights with my voice is pretty freaking awesome and simple. It saves me from having to find my phone for the app making it a really handy option.

What’s fun

The fun is all in the lighting ambience. This rope light gives off a ton of it. I’m actually quite surprised at how brilliant the lighting is with the Rope Light 2. Sure, making designs is cool. Once I see the way I can customize my lights and even make them pop to the beat of my music through the Govee Home App, I can’t stop smiling.

There’s a plethora of customizable options including 64 presets for this thing. I literally can’t even begin to list them all here. Just know that Govee is now the main company I visit for determining what I can do with lighting. I scour online and see Govee already unleashed tons of designs to check out and test with this new light. What a blast.

Summary

Whether you are looking to spice up your room with some cool new and definitely bright customizable designs, or simply seeking an ambient touch of creativity, Govee has you covered. The Govee Neon Rope Light 2 has some fantastic upgrades with Matter support, additional flexibility, and brightness settings. As I mention above, this company is now my go to for any lighting fun. I’m really looking forward to seeing what else Govee will put out this year. Happy decorating!
