Is This the Best High-End Gamepad for PS5 and PC?

Victrix Pro BFG Controller

The PDP Victrix Pro BFG Controller is a modular gamer’s dream. When I first open the box and realize just how customizable, I’m taken aback. This is a game changer! We are used to having some triggers on the back of a controller. The Pro BFG literally swaps entire halves of the controller. Talk about innovation! After testing this bad boy for a few weeks, here are the highs and lows of it all.

Victrix Pro BFG Controller – Build and Customization

The first thing to notice is how solid this controller is. It isn’t heavy where it makes your hands hurt. It’s just solid and ready to take on winning. The packaging is well thought out, and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when I received the controller. I literally thought it was just going to be another decent controller. Imagine my surprise when I open it and see additional left and right full gamepads sitting there. It was almost confusing.

The point is, I realized exactly how the controller was going to work within seconds of opening. This means the controller is modular but incredibly intuitive. It’s easy to quickly figure out what goes where without having to think much about it. You don’t need a degree in engineering or even the instruction manual to figure it out, which speaks volumes about the design. This controller is built for the hardcore gamers who love fighting via FPS or arcade style fighters.

Changing things up is easy too. In a matter of seconds, you can shift between layouts designed for first-person shooters to a setup optimized for arcade-style fighting games. If I have to complain, the controller does require the removal of some fine screws to ensure the pads stay in place, but it’s simple enough. Just remember where you place the included screwdriver if you don’t have extras laying around.

Victrix Pro BFG Controller – In the Game

If you’re a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 player, you know that every millisecond counts. That’s where the Victrix Pro BFG Wireless Controller becomes a total game-changer. From the moment I plugged it in, my gameplay felt sharper, more responsive, and totally in sync with my moves. It’s not just about playing better – it’s about playing smarter and configuring buttons is what this controller is all about.

Aiming feels smoother, more controlled, and ultimately more accurate. Gone are the days of overshooting your target or feeling a delay in reaction time (unless you’re me) This controller helps to deliver the precision you need to hit every shot.

The adjustable clutch triggers also make a noticeable difference. I set them to the lowest sensitivity level – the result? Instant shooting, without the lag you get from traditional controllers. In Black Ops 6, where quick reflexes can mean the difference between life and death, being able to fire off rounds that fast gave me a serious advantage. Every pull of the trigger felt faster, more responsive, and fully under my control—no wasted motion.

I don’t want to forget the remappable back paddles. Being able to map essential actions like jumping, reloading, or melee attacks to the back paddles kept my thumbs firmly planted on the analog sticks, which means I never missed a beat. If I’m completely honest though, I struggle to use them like a pro. My kids are all over it. I’m getting a bit too old for all the buttons and lack the speed and memory to hit the right thing. Then again, I don’t pour hours into practice either.

I feel like I shouldn’t have to say it, but this is for more than COD. These same options are obviously helpful in games like Apex and Fortnite etc.

While I didn’t get to test the controller much on PC, I have to call it out. The Victrix Control Hub app looks freaking amazing. Long story short? It adds additional customization options and mapping on the fly.

Summary

There is a famous quote: “To win or not to win, that is the question” or something like that. Sure, I say this tongue in cheek, but nowadays as a gamer if you want to win you need a competitive edge. The Victrix Pro BFG Call of Duty controller gives that edge. It’s a great controller that offers some awesome features. It does lack rumble which kind of sucks, but I forget about it the moment I start playing. This sucker is meant for FPS and fighting. Rumble makes more of an impact if you are playing a great immersive story. Pick this sucker up and win.
