After a long day of work, the last thing on my mind is keeping a clean home. This is a problem because the first thing I notice when I walk in the door is mess and clutter from the realities of daily living. The kitchen needs cleaning every day. We cook almost every meal almost every day. Kids are running in and out of the house, tracking in all kinds of dirt. Try as I might, I can’t seem to get them to see the things I see when it comes to cleaning up after themselves. This is exactly why I am so grateful for modern technology. It’s why Roborock sets the bar for robotic vacuuming and mopping. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is the ultimate vacuum and mopping machine, and it’s ready to tackle the toughest of jobs.
Right from the get-go Roborock makes things easy. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. This makes it so easy to get the vacuum doing what it is designed to do ASAP. Connecting to Wi-Fi is a breeze, and using the app is as intuitive as it gets. The base station comes complete with a clean water tank, a dirty water tank, and a space for the vacuum bag. It has built in voice controls, so even if you don’t have an Echo or Google Home, you can still say “Hey Rocky” to get it to start cleaning.
My favorite new feature is the automatic detergent dispenser. In the past, if I wanted to use soap, I had to add it manually. Now, I can simply fill the cleaning solution tank, and the system mixes it into the water at proper ratios on its own. The mopping system is top notch thanks to the VibraRise 3.0 technology included. Basically, this means the mop vibrates to help lift tough stains off of hard flooring. It doesn’t just “vibrate” though, it literally vibrates at 4000 times per minute. I watch this in action and the mop has little problem lifting stains and keeping my floors squeaky clean.
Corners are no match for the new mopping system either. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra features a side brush or “Flexibrush and Sidearm” for both vacuuming and mopping. I’ve seen it in action, and it really works. When the device makes its way back to the base to clean itself, there is another feature I notice. The base actually cleans itself as well. I’ve made the mistake of not cleaning other vacuum/mop combo bases, and it can get nasty in there. Not so with the S8 MaxV Ultra. Both the base station and vacuum look sharp even after extensive use.
Alright so the thing mops well, but does it vacuum well? In a word, yes. I know we’d all love to see these little bots get more and more powerful, and they will. The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra goes far above its counterpart the QRevo MaxV (7,000 Pa). The 10,000 Pa suction is noticeably better on the S8 MaxV Ultra. For those looking for an oscillating mop that actually spins, perhaps the QRevo Master will better serve as it features 10,000 Pa, dual spinning brushes for mopping, and a base station that also self-cleans.
The app is so feature packed it’s dizzying. I can create virtual walls, no-go zones, set schedules, have is clean only certain rooms, the list goes on and on. I use the routine function, but I love that I can also choose if I just want it to vacuum or mop separately or combine them into one cleaning. The app also tells me how long each clean should take, the battery life, and when I need to empty or refill the water tanks.
At Blitzreviews.com we like to pick on at least one thing about products to keep it real. My only complaint about the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is the built-in voice assistant. It is finicky at best. Sometimes it hears me when I’m not talking to it. Sometimes it doesn’t hear me when I’m talking to it. When it works it works well. This is the first vacuum ever to support Matter Protocol making it more compatible with Smart Homes than its competitors. I also hope that Roborock builds upon its Amazon Echo skill to make functionality a bit more user friendly as well. It gets difficult to recall the commands needed to get it going. That being said the built-in assistant works great when it hears me and always starts when I simply state “Start Cleaning”.
Summary
Again, after a long day, cleaning is the last thing I want to think about, but clutter and dirt are unavoidable. This is why the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is a game-changer for vacuuming and mopping. With its easy setup, Wi-Fi connectivity, and intuitive app, it starts cleaning in no time. Its advanced features, including a vibrating mop with VibraRise 3.0 technology and powerful 10,000 Pa suction, handle even the toughest messes. The automatic detergent dispenser and self-cleaning base station make maintenance a breeze. Although the built-in voice assistant is sometimes finicky, this smart vacuum sets a high standard for home cleaning. Keep on rockin’ Roborock.
