Baseline Midlayer:
My first experience with the Coalatree Baseline Midlayer is on a trip to Maui. Having a Baseline Midlayer full-zip hoodie in Maui may seem like a head scratcher. Yet, it is perfect as I transition between airports and flights, and navigate volcanic peaks that stretch above the clouds. It fits nicely in my carry-on for quick access. The Coalatree Baseline Midlayer is an ideal weight which is light enough for minimal packing and warm enough to function well in cold weather as an added layer. After returning from Maui, I use it on cool fall nights, early morning soccer games, and color tour day hikes up north. It is just one of those perfect layers that I want to wear almost all the time.
The Baseline Midlayer is also incredibly comfortable. I appreciate just how well it fits across the shoulders, as often times I find myself in between sizes. The arms have plenty of length, even when I use the built-in thumb holes. The fabric has a bit of stretch which makes it perfect for layering. Additionally, the honeycomb fabric structure is soft and maintains its new fleece feeling wash after wash.
I love how innovative the Midlayer is with its DWR (Durable Water Repellent finish) coating. This means it is water repellent, stain resistant, and yet still fully breathable. It also is incredibly packable and can even be packed inside its own pocket, making taking it anywhere a breeze. I find it is my new go to zip-up for just about everything!
Trailhead Adventure Short:
While I am impressed by the Baseline Midlayer, the MTN2CTY Trailhead Adventure Short is straight up my new favorite pair of shorts. The first time I wear them is on a trek across the island. After riding in the backseat of a convertible, we stop in a small town for some seafood and shopping.
Next, we head up the mountain side for a hike through the jungle to some waterfalls. Throughout the day, regardless of the activity, the Trailhead shorts meet every challenge and exceed all of my expectations.
Personally, I love the length of the MTN2CTY Trailhead short. They hit just above the knee when I am standing, so they aren’t too bulky or cumbersome for hikes and other active uses. Additionally, they have a bit of stretch so they are comfortable when I am sitting and don’t ride up.
Not only are they comfortable to wear, but the fabric is incredibly soft with just the right amount of flex and stretch. Typically, I am more of a pants guy – especially when flying, but these shorts are so comfortable that I end up wearing them on the flight home. The fact that they are water repellent and stain resistant (DWS coating), give me even more confidence and worry-free wear.
I especially appreciate that they are stylish and versatile enough that I can wear them in just about any short-appropriate situation. These shorts are incredible in every way. Did I mention how extremely comfortable are? I also like how well the pockets hold and secure my phone, wallet and other personal items without feeling bulky. I just wish the inside “secret” pocket was bigger (it is about big enough to hold my car’s key fob and not much more).
Summary:
Coalatree MTN2CTY apparel is astonishingly ready for anything, and might just be my new favorite clothing line. The versatility of their design means I get to wear them in a variety of settings knowing that I will be comfortable and ready for any surprises or challenges.
