Early 2024 looks promising for gamers. There are some crazy good games that are getting reboots/remasters. I can’t even begin to describe the excitement I feel when I see some of these titles on the docket. Without further ado, here are the best games in early 2024.
Tomb Raider Remastered
Yes, we already saw a Tomb Raider re-release in 2013 and it was insanely good. One of my favorite games I’ve ever played in fact. This release is different. It’s a hard-hitting remaster of the actual original Tomb Raider games (1-3) which are classic. Better graphics and the option to go back and forth between the old graphics and the new are sure to bring back some major nostalgia. Bust out the pizza rolls and Surge – it’s time to go back for the puzzle solving action shooter that made us so happy back in the day. Tomb Raider Remastered is due out on February 14, 2024.
Skull and Bones
If you haven’t played Assassin’s Creed Black Flag you missed out. Go play it and revel in the feeling it gives you when you are on the high seas. I roamed the waters for hours enjoying my sea-chanty singing crew while navigating rough waters and battling it out with tougher ships. It was my favorite part of the game. It’s also what I hope to get a deeper dive into with Skull and Bones. Ubisoft delayed this game over and over, but we can’t tell you how pumped we are for its planned release this month (Feb 16). Alone in the Dark
Another incredible and nostalgic title. I literally spent entire nights of my life working through this game as a kid with my cousin at my side. It was the first game where I felt a little bit terrified to wander around, but at the same time I just had to see what was around the next corner. Alone in the Dark combines classic horror with fun puzzles and adventure while trying to unravel a deep-seated mystery. Resident Evil fans owe some homage to this all-time classic game. It’s looking pretty good. Alone in the Dark is set to release on March 20th. OH, AND IT FEATURES DAVID HARBOUR AS EDWARD CARNBY AND JODIE COMER AS EMILY HARTWOOD! Can’t wait.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
Alright, I confess. I didn’t play entirely through the original Dragon’s Dogma. However, with the delay of any hope in the next Bethesda (Skyrimish) game, I am seriously craving some Skyrim type of adventure. Dragon’s Dogma 2 may be exactly what we need right now. In fact, it is looking absolutely insane – my hopes are set incredibly high. It promises to be another beast slaying adventure with some pretty stellar combat features. It’s time to head back to Arisen and create chaos (or die a lot in my case) with spells, ranged weapons, and melee strikes. This one may just be the best of the year and certainly the best of games in early 2024. We can only hope.
