Turtle Beach takes to the skies with the new VelocityOne Flightdeck

There is a reason movies like Top Gun keep us coming back for more. The desire to fly and be the best seems to resonate deep in our collective soul (dang, I forgot about that band – pulling it up now). Wonky controls give flight games a bad name where many could be great. Whether it’s Star Wars: Squadrons or Flight Simulator, getting your aircraft in the sky is a thousand times more fun with a sweet controller to go with it. Turtle Beach has just announced the VelocityOne Flightdeck – and it promises more glorified goodness in the air.

The VelocityOne Flightdeck looks insane and is literally available right now. It features 139 programmable buttons for you aspiring pilots out there (I’ll stick to roughly 10). It has a beautiful customizable OLED Head Up Display, and a ton more. Chris Keirn, Interim CEO and SVP of Global Sales at Turtle Beach states “Whether you’re flying in the skies or stratosphere, VelocityOne Flightdeck delivers an unmatched contemporary flight simulation experience.” My thought? While I haven’t gotten my hands on this personally, I can tell you right now – it will deliver. How do I know? I’ve tested the VelocityOne Flightstick – arguably the best Flightstick available.

The same team that expertly crafted the Velocity One Flighstick and VelocityOne Rudder, helped design the new VelocityOne Flightdeck. Turtle Beach claims this new deck “provides a peerless HOTAS (hands on throttle and stick) experience with its comprehensive controls.” I’ll say. As previosly mentioned, it features not only 139 programmable buttons, but it also has 15 axes for total immersion during gameplay. Turtle Beach also delivers with its Flight Hangar app available on Windows PC and iOS/Android which features enhanced customization options.

For those looking for complete immersion in their flight sims, Turtle Beach seems to have you covered. There aren’t a lot of companies focused on these types of controls anymore. It’s nice to see a company giving diehard fans what they crave. Hopefully I’ll get my hands on one of these for a full review at some point. In the meantime – Happy Gaming!
