Shark is back with another innovation and a brand-new upgrade to their vacuums. The new Shark PowerDetect is a revolutionary smart technology that cleans like never before. Shark PowerDetect is featured in their PowerDetect Cordless Stick standup vacuum and their PowerDetect 2-in-1 Robot Mop and Vaccum.
Shark Cordless PowerDetect Clean & Empty System:
This is Shark’s most advanced cordless powered by their best cordless suction. The Cordless PowerDetect Clean & Empty System combines this powerful cordless standup vacuum with a base that automatically empties the vacuum canister when docked. The Auto-Empty technology means I avoid having the messy, dusty task of emptying the canister. Which is a life-saver for my allergies (it actually locks away 99.97% of allergens). The Auto-Empty base also automatically charges the PowerDetect Cordless Stick vacuum, so it is always ready when I need it.
The PowerDetect Cordless Stick vacuum has a run time of seventy minutes in the Eco mode under ideal circumstances. It also features a Detect mode (which adjusts to changing floor conditions), and a Boost mode (both use the battery more quickly). I wish the battery lasted a little longer as I typically use it on the Detect mode. One thing I would like to see upgraded is how loud the base is when emptying the vacuum canister. However, it is nice that the base has a “quiet” mode. This mode keeps the base from emptying the vacuum canister until it is flipped back to the “on” mode.
The PowerDetect Cordless Stick Experience:
The The Cordless PowerDetect Clean & Empty System vacuum is awesome. It has incredible features and cleans like nothing I’ve ever used. Plus it is really fun to use. It has a MulitFlex handle which allows the wand to bend to easily clean under furniture. This is incredibly handy when I am vacuuming under the kitchen table or to get those hard to reach spots under the bed and couch.
One of my favorite features (besides the performance) is the DirtDetect which detects hidden dirt. I love how it uses dark purple, light purple, and white lighting to communicate the level of hidden dirt it is detecting. That way I know if I need to spend additional time on a section of carpet or move on. A bonus to this feature is that it is engaging for my kids while teaching them how to properly vacuum! The PowerDetect features are simply stunning.
PowerDetect:
Here is a quick overview of PowerDetect and why it is so amazing as a homeowner. Simply put, PowerDetect is an integrated smart technology to enhance cleaning performance of Shark vacuum products. This innovation optimizes your cleaning by combining features designed to adjust to different cleaning needs with powerful suction. These features include DuoClean Detect, PowerDetect Intelligence, and Reverse Cleaning.
For example, DuoClean Detect is a feature that utilizes two brushrolls that lift and clean both forward and in reverse directions. So I capture more dirt, debris, hair, fine particles, etc. when I vacuum. The brushrolls work together making it much more effective. I notice this after my first thorough vacuuming of our upstairs. The canister is full of fine particles and dirt that our other vacuum never picked up. I swear the Cordless Stick vacuum sucked up dirt from the carpet pad – it was equally amazing and horrifying at the same time!
PowerDetect Inteligence:
These vacuums also use PowerDetect Intelligence which are technologies that automatically adjust the suction power to clean better. The suction automatically adjusts depending on the floor surface or debris it detects. This includes Dirt Detect, Edge Detect, Floor Detect, and Direction Detect.
I am amazed at how truly intuitive it is and responsive to what I am cleaning. Additionally, I notice this with the Reverse Cleaning feature which unlike other vacuums the PowerDetect patented technology uses teeth in the reverse stroke making it more efficient as it actively sucks up more debris and large particles on the reverse stroke. PowerDetect cleans unlike anything else I’ve experienced.
New Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop with NeverTouch™ Pro Base:
The PowerDetect is also a feature of the new Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop with NeverTouch Pro Base. This 2-1 robot vacuum and mop is nearly autonomous with self-emptying (up to 60 days), self-refilling (30 days), and self-cleaning (30 days) base. The self-cleaning automatic pad wash and dry is game-changing as it does all of the dirty work for me – literally.
The PowerDetect 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop is a breeze to set up. After a quick instillation and app upload, I send out the NeverTouch Pro to map my floorplan. Using the app we name the robot vacuum and mop “Mommy Shark” for reasons, well… if it isn’t obvious ask a mom with little kids. Shark makes this fun by even giving a bunch of name suggestions. Some of our favorites are Tony Shark, Whaletail Swift, Sharklock Homes, Clean Latifah, Jawshua, Sharkira, and Chummy.
PowerDetect 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop Experience:
I love how once the robot vacuum and mop is set up in the app, running it is simple and easy. I simply send it out from my phone (and from anywhere I’m connected) and when it is finished it empties, refills, cleans and dries itself automatically. I like how on the app I can set it to clean and mop, or simply clean (vacuum).
I can also set it to clean the whole house or specific rooms I’ve designated on the app. With the option of setting keep out zones on the app, I don’t have to worry it will go somewhere it shouldn’t. While I wish the app had a few more features like room cleaning order or multiple passes/runs, the PowerDetect essentially makes some of those features unnecessary.
I especially enjoy the mopping feature with the Edge Cleaning which uses blasts of air and extended mopping pad. It is the best I’ve seen for total edge and corner cleaning. I also like how the mop oscillates back and forth for a deeper clean and better mopping finish. In my experience, the object detect could use some strengthening as it had trouble with smaller objects and kid’s toys. However, the five PowerDetect technologies truly are next level in cleaning ability.
Summary:
