Turtle Beach continues to gain traction among PC gamers with their high-quality gaming peripherals. Today, they announce the release of two new gaming mice: the Kone II Air and the Kone II. Having tested nearly every Roccat mouse over the years, I’m genuinely excited to see what Turtle Beach’s latest iterations of the iconic Kone mouse bring to the table.
Cris Keirn, the CEO of Turtle Beach, supports the use of the term “iconic” by stating, “The iconic Kone AIMO has a long and illustrious history in gaming and is considered by many to be one of the greatest ergonomic mouse designs ever. We’ve spent years ensuring its successors, the wireless Kone II Air and wired Kone II, will be just as lauded.”
Historically, Kone mice have been praised for their nearly perfect ergonomic grip and slightly weighty feel. As a huge fan of wireless technology, I look forward to the freedom of movement the Kone II Air will offer. Turtle Beach promises up to 350 hours of battery life using low-latency Bluetooth or up to 130 hours via its high-performance 2.4GHz wireless connection.
Like the Kone XP Air, these new mice feature an “Easy Shift” button, allowing gamers to expand from 7 buttons to an impressive 23, all customizable. While this might seem like overkill to some, it’s a boon for serious gamers seeking maximum functionality.
For those who prefer wired options, the Kone II offers a drag-free, ultra-flexible cable. Trust me when I say users will barely notice the wire. The cables are so light these days, I’m tempted to use them. I just hate the appearance. Both mice also support AIMO lighting, customizable through Turtle Beach’s Swarm software, and are NVIDIA Reflex compatible, ensuring sub-25ms response times for optimal performance. Maybe the likes of Ninja should start worrying about pairing up against you in the next battle.
I can tell you right now, if you are into battle royale type of games or shooters in general, Turtle Beach (assuming this will be as high quality as Roccat) offers fantastic options. I still use my Kone XP Air (from Roccat), and I’m pretty obsessed. I absolutely love having programmable buttons galore. Strategy games allow for so many more shortcuts, and the Swarm software is straightforward.
